NAHRA President’s Message
Summer is now in full swing, and I am way overdue for message out to our membership. This has been a busy summer for NAHRA. In early June I was able to attend the 2018 NAHRA Invitational hosted by the Eastern Shore Retriever Club, in Onancock Virginia. ESRC did a great job representing NAHRA and celebrating the Master hunting retriever. ESRC is a great group of hard working individuals, thank you to the Eastern Shore Retriever Club for hosting this event. The judges did a great job of setting up fair, yet challenging tests. Thank you to all of the events sponsors, and congratulations to all the participants and qualifiers. While we are discussing the Invitational, I want to congratulate the Midnight Sun Gun Dog Association for being chosen to host the 2019 NAHRA Invitational. Dates will be July 11-13, and the event will be held in Palmer, Alaska. In addition, congratulations to the judges chosen to judge this event. They include, David Mellender, Terry Strege, and Valerie Plewa. I want to publicly thank NAHRA’s platinum sponsor, Kinetic Performance Dog Food. Through their sponsorship, they were able to provided two NAHRA 35 Year commemorative shotguns to this year’s Invitational as well as a gun to each regional held this year. These guns were well received. Thank you Kinetic! I would also like to thank all the clubs this year for doing a good job on club applications as well as getting test info back to the NAHRA office on time. There has been a huge improvement this year as a whole. One request Rosemary has to the membership and clubs is when you sign up with Huntsecretary.com, please make sure to fill out as much of your dog info as you can. Looking at the calendar of events, it appears that clubs are pretty busy through the fall. Hunting season is just around the corner, and we get to enjoy our time in the field with our hunting partners. Until then, enter as many tests as you can, support your local clubs, and most importantly have fun. Thanks again for the support.
