Jennifer Hood, Western Region DirectorI have a long history with NAHRA. It started when I was 13 years old in the early 90's. My mom had just gotten her first dog and was starting to compete in NAHRA and I would go with her and help out at tests. I was practically a professional marshal and bird thrower by the time I was 18 years old. I got my first dog, Raven, while in college and took her to the senior level. My second dog Colby only went to the started level but that was strictly due to lack of time to train. I became a judge in 2000 to help Arizona get more judges and to keep me busy until I got my next hunting dog. I currently have a little over 80 points and am looking forward to being a 100 point judge sometime in the near future. I got the opportunity to judge my first Regional event a couple of years ago for Central Coast HRC. It was a lot of fun getting to see dogs from our whole region show off their skills. I was first elected secretary of Quail West back when it existed. I am currently the secretary/treasurer of Western Arizona Gun Dog which is my home club. I was also Field Test Secretary for the 2012 Invitational. Currently I have a 8 month old puppy that I am training and running in NAHRA. That little wild dog keeps me on my toes but I am having a lot of fun running again. I am really looking forward to filling the position of Regional Director West and taking on this new role in NAHRA that I have never done before.
